He's my Daddy.

June 17, 2012

Today in Sacrament Meeting our High Councilor suggested that we all take the time to call our father, tell him we love him, and let him know we were in church today. I haven't called Papa Smurf yet, but just in case I forget to say it when I do call.. now you know I was in church! Makin' Bishop proud.

Jake Emmett has taught me two main things.
1. To love and live the Gospel.
2. To run.

And what more do you need? I like both of those things, and I'm glad I have a Popsicle to show me how much I like them. Because in all seriousness, I'm grateful for a father who cares whether or not I'm in church. I'm grateful for a father who

baptized me
let me play on his treadmills at work
took me on bike rides
gave me his freckles
taught my third grade class about bones
took me to see Finding Nemo in theaters
taught me to ski
handed over his car when I was just learning to drive

has a good taste in music
makes me laugh
and reads my blog.

I could go on and on, but for now.. please enjoy these pictures of me and Papa Bear.

Sorry I didn't become and Aggie, but thanks for the ice cream!
Look at that dead tie across the finish line! I remember and regret being kind of grumpy that day, but I'll never forget those 2+ hours running my first half-marathon with my Dad. He never left my side!
High School Graduation. Don't we kinda look alike? and I miss that house.
This is [the cutest picture of all time] my dad and his dad right after John the younger got home from his mission in Pennsylvania. Three piece suit, leather jacket, check them outtt.

And I can't leave out this guy! My mom's dad is so quiet, but so busy, and just so nice.

So, Happy Father's Day! Whether or not you're a dad, have great June 17th.

Thanks for the Father's day post. I'm truly honored. Aggie ice-cream > BYU ice-cream, any run with you is more enjoyable, and the ol' house misses you, too.
