Rocks and Llamas

July 15, 2012

Last week I went real life rock climbing!
So first we realized a little late that our rope was too short for the climb we wanted to try.
Then we went to a different spot, and I probably fell a dozen times while we were hiking up this rockslide of a trail. But finally we made it, set up the rope, and Ben and Ted made let me go first. For all you climbers, this was a 5.6. It said so on the rock. Impresssive.

I did it! I won't lie, it was a struggle.

Yesterday after I spent the day at Seven Peaks with my sisters and their families, I went to Llama Fest with Megatron. It's held up at the Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork.
First, some girl handed me an anti-Mormon pamphlet. Thaaanks. I didn't realize what it was at first, but then I kept it because I was going to give it back to her when we left. I wanted to hand it back and tell her that I'm very happy being LDS. She wasn't there when we walked back though, so I just threw it away.
We spent the rest of the time buying Llama Fest t-shirts, feeding a llama, and sitting inside the temple listening to songs and learning about the services they hold there.

Okay, best part! So we're up by the temple where a Beatles tribute band is being very loud. My phone rang and I didn't recognize the number, but I answered it anyway. The person on the other end was super offended I didn't know who he was right off the bat. I walked away to where it was quieter, and I finally heard a voice I knew so well! RYAN called me! Ryan who's in Georgia at Basic all summer. I was stoked. We only talked for a few minutes, but it made my day. Ryan has been my "twin" since middle school. We're so similar, and he's one of the kids I miss the most.

Talking to Ryno. Too excited to put the phone away for a llama picture.

I'm so proud of your rock climbing skills! I love your new llama friends, and your old friend Ryan :) And you look so cute with the Sunflower! Does Cute Little Meg really answer to all those names?

I love the unique combination of subject matter in this post; kind of like banana bread and cheese.
