someone come take care of me.

November 20, 2012

remember way back roughly three weeks ago when i had a "really bad cold" or whatever we were calling it? and the only half-mexican at the creamery (she's proud of it, it's fine) told me she was sure it was actually a sinus infection? well it all mostly went away and i was feeling great untiiil sunday.

my back and neck and ears started to really hurt and i slept just terribly sunday night. monday morning i was so lightheaded when i tried to take a shower that i went straight back to my bed and sent out a text to three different friends asking if anyone had time to take me to the student health center. around twelve-thirty i made it to the health center where it took approximately forty-five seconds for the fanciest dressed doctor i've ever seen to tell me i had a sinus infection. little half-mexican was right.

i picked up my prescription, grabbed a free dumdum, and walked a few blocks to the creamery because i seriously needed food. i missed my first two classes, but had enough time to make it to clogging before work. i sat in the back, planning to just watch and hoping greg wouldn't teach very much new stuff. he took one look at me and said, "erin, go home." but i had to work on campus afterward anyway, so i stayed. also he didn't teach anything new, soo.. kinda a waste. still my favorite class.

work was miserable. i was so lightheaded and moving unbelievably slowly. i finished the bare, bare minimum and clocked out after an hour and twelve minutes. steven gave me a ride home because he is a half-japanese saint.

i climbed back into bed and barely left for the rest of the day. literally the worst nights sleep i can remember last night. my nose is stuffed so i can't breathe through my nose and that made my lips chapped and my mouth water which is gross and also miserable because i couldn't even swallow my spit because my throat is so sore.

so there was a slim chance i'd be making it out of the house today. i forced myself to take a shower and eat half a yogurt, but mostly i've just been lying here bouncing between the chills and hot flashes while the glands in my neck are so swollen they feel like a dozen little marbles on each side.

how long does it take for these magical antibiotics to kick in? more than twenty-seven hours i guess.
