bunnies and lambs, missionaries and EASTER!

March 31, 2013

Let's talk about my favorite holiday. Easter is the most underrated day - everything about it. Easter celebrates the single most wonderful, beautiful gift ever given to mankind by our Savior, Jesus Christ. It brings a message of hope and happiness, signals the beginning of spring, and makes it okay for us all to sugar overloooad.

The thing about Easter though, is that is always catches me by surprise. There is no Easter season leading up to it to remind me to stock up on eggs and buy a new dress. I made an effort this year, half-heartedly decorating eggs at FHE last week and looking for a new dress at the outlets only to come away with four new shirts.. But I hope next year I can really plan ahead. I love it so much! I love celebrating my Savior's resurrection. I love Easter hymns. I love being with my family. I love spring time. I love dying eggs and eating candy, okay?

And even though I have to leave for work soon, let's keep talking about my favorite holiday and why my morning at church was awesome.

First, church was so legit. We had testimony meeting and everything everyone said was so goood. The chapel was packed, and everyone was so happy. In Sunday School we laughed a lot and discussed the Priesthood, too. In our combined third hour we talked about family history, and I think it was the first family history lesson I've ever enjoyed. Maybe it kind of even convinced me to take a family history class at BYU. It's an Easter miracle!

Plus both classes gave us candy. #finebyme

After church I ran into cute Sister Low in the foyer! She and I were in the same freshman ward at BYU last year. I knew she had been called to Orlando, but she didn't enter the MTC until March so I figured I would miss any chance at running into her before I left. Well good thing missionaries are in and outta that training center so fast these days!

Then I decided the Mormon roommates from #28201 needed and Easter picture. And even though Afton left before we could get one with all of us, I think we did okay. Reeeally cute, don't you think?

So, happy Easters everyone! Remember it's not about the bunny, it's about the Lamb.

I miss having my family around for Easter! After all, the Plan of Salvation is all about the family! I am so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ who made it all possible. Happy Easter!

I love all your post and this one was no exception. I regret not doing more in the past to celebrating and honoring Easter and its preceding holy week so I'm making that one of my new year's resolutions.
