temples and soda and goodbye pdx

August 29, 2014

It's past two in the morning. I fell asleep for two and a half hours right around when I should have been eating dinner (bless you Stefan for letting me sleep, then feeding me when I woke up).. Then I drank a huge Dr. Pepper (actually a Southern Gentleman from Sodalicious - Dr. Pepper with peach and vanilla, aka the drink that dreeeeams are made of) so we all know I won't be falling asleep any time soon. That being said, such a lovely introduction to this topic:

The Portland temple is dreamy as all get out, I mean it. Stefan and I were able to visit it together twice this summer, and I went once by myself when Stefan was out of town overnight for work. This temple sits right next to a busy highway, but all the trees surrounding it left me feeling as if we were in our own secret world while we were there. Not to mention once I'm inside I always know I'm in a special kind of world. I'm really going to miss this temple, and I hope I get to see it again someday soon! If you ever find yourself in Portland, I'd say at least a walk around this temple's grounds is worth the trip. Not to mention there's a Chipotle just down the street; we all know it isn't my favorite restaurant, but I have learned recently to never say no to their chicken tacos.

If you want to learn more about LDS temples (or if already know a lot about them and you're looking for a little motivation to get yourself to one ;) read this! And make sure you click through all five sections, I promise they're short and definitely worth the read! Oh, guys. I feel the end of the Portland posts coming on strong. In fact this very well may be it! It makes my heart hurt just a little. I'm so happy to be back in Provo, I can't really let it get me down.. But I do feel like I owe the city of Portland a nice thank you card or a big bear hug for giving us such a great summer. Until I figure out how to make one of those things happen, maybe it's about time for bed.
