what's this!?

September 22, 2014

A post about something fun that happened? With pictures!? It's a football season miracle! Yes, everyone. On Saturday afternoon we spent almost four hours frying underneath the beating sun, all for the sake of cougar football. In the words of my (closet BYU fan) father, "Doesn't Provo know it's fall?" Sheeesh.

Stefan's best friend forever saved us seats up in the nosebleeds. Some kids had been camping out for twenty-four hours before the game! So the nosebleeds were okay by me. Also, I seriously should have taken a picture of the two kids who were standing in front of us just so I could remember them and how much they loved Stefan and Taylor. I'll be the first to admit it, Stefan and Taylor are funny. Especially funny when they're together. They make some of the dumbest and smartest and nonsensical jokes you've ever heard. But the two guys in front of us were seriously loving it. They turned around to laugh at and comment on everything Stefan and Taylor said. It was actually kind of cute. At one point Stefan and Taylor left to get drinks and I don't think the kids in front realized they had left. They were making some jokes of their own and turned around, I'm sure seeking approval from the two funniest guys in the stadium, only to be disappointed Stefan and Taylor were gone.

The sun was beating down on us the whole game and of course we had no sunscreen, no hats, just the fairest skin in town. Luckily everyone at the game received a free t-shirt, so we used those to shade ourselves/cool ourselves down. And by "cool ourselves down" I mean I literally took two of the shirts into the restroom and soaked them in cold water. A cold, wet t-shirt feels reeeally nice on a sunburnt neck.

By the end of the third quarter though, I was ready to call it quits. Not leave the game, don't be nuts! But I did have to stay sitting down, hiding in Stefan's tall shadow. It was hot as all get out and I was not feeling great. But I lived to see the end of the game, we won, and all was well.

Also, for-the-record. This time we caved and bought one of those seven dollar, endless refill cups. And if there was a good day to buy one, this was it. We totally drank our money's worth in blue powerade, plus you get to keep the cup! Score. So, in the words of Stefan and Taylor: "go shmoogs!"

I'm honored to be mentioned in your blog even if it "outed" me. Well, it's true, but first, Go Aggies!
