RUNNING bLOG: fun run?

^^^ pretending to be running in the race

The best part of Stefan's Saturday was probably his free ten minute massage. The worst part was probably how he earned the massage - he ran a 5K. This is how the conversation always goes: "I'd run a marathon if you gave me a soccer ball to dribble and a net to score some goals!" Stefan likes sports, not just running to run. And I get that. But I also get how much he must like me because a few weeks ago when I asked him if he wanted to run the Rex Lee 5K with me he said "Sure." Truuue love.

I think we both had a lot of fun! Or, at least some? We did. We saw a couple friends before the race started and ended up running the whole thing with one of them. Plus we came away with free t-shirts, snacks, and those massages! A massage therapy school from Salt Lake set up a booth at the end of the race, and you know as soon as we saw it was free we jumped in that line.

We ran the whole race, got a little sun, and added a few of our own names to the big poster of cancer fighters. All the proceeds from this event go to cancer research, so if you want you can dedicate your race to a cancer fighter. Stefan dedicated the race to his mom who has beaten cancer twice! We added her name and my grandma Norda's to the poster. This was the 20th annual Rex Lee Run - just think of how many people have been out there over the years running to support cancer research! Local races like this are always fun, but they feel even better when you're doing even your little part to support something great.

I love Stefan for doing this with me. I know it isn't really his thing, but we had fun running together and it got us outside on a beautiful day!
