I love America and I don't care who knows it! In fact, I'd like to make sure everyone knows it. I love America! The other day I read one girl's blog where she said she loves the Fourth of July "just like every other basic white girl" - what!? I did not know that was a thing. So now I need to go figure out if I am in fact a basic white girl because I really really really love the Fourth of July, but in the mean time.. We had an awesome day! We slept in, stopped by a neighborhood party, then headed up to see my sisters and their families. We spent some time soaking our feet in the river and skipping/throwing/picking up and dropping (varying age levels and abilities, you know) rocks. Then went back to my sister's house to jump on the trampoline, throw water balloons, frost cupcakes, and grill.
^^^ I love this one of my niece in the purple life jacket working it.
^^^ Cute one on the left and an even cuter one on the right after my sister told us to work it.
^^^ Oh my gosh, we found Stefan's name on a Coke bottle! It's a Fourth of July miracle!
Sorry not sorry for all these water fight pictures. They all had so much fun! Plus we had some of those things that fill thirty water balloons at once and tie them all off for you, so that made the whole thing 34897 times better.
^^^ My sister's sweet new puppy.
I am so grateful for this awesome holiday to celebrate our incredible country and the freedoms we have here! This really is the best country in the world. I'm proud to be an American!

And now, because the best holidays are the ones with the best music, here's our Fourth of July playlist for this year! I rarely listen to country music, but something inside me demands it on Independence Day. Blame it on my small town, Midwestern roots I guess. And keep in mind that since I hardly ever listen to it, I don't know the best stuff. If you have any good suggestions for me to add to the list next year, tell me tell me! Oh and there's also going to be a lot of Tom Petty because Tom Petty is America.

>> American Girl - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers
>> All-American Girl - Carrie Underwood
>> Free Fallin' - Tom Petty
>> I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty
>> Leave the Night On - Sam Hunt
>> Wide Open Spaces - Dixie Chicks
>> Born in the U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen
>> Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
>> Ready to Run - Dixie Chicks
>> American Pie - Don McLean

^^^ Little bebe after she got hit with some water. Yes, she has a temporary tattoo on her bulging muscles.

After dinner we headed back to Provo to meet up with friends and catch the Stadium of Fire fireworks from our neighbor's house a few streets over. We actually ended up sprinting through the neighborhood, afraid we were missing the show.. But eventually we made it to someone's yard (no idea whose) and saw the whole show from a really great view. God bless the USA!
