This is a post that has next to nothing to do with me, and mainly exists to brag about my friends. Back in July I posted about my awesome trip to Seattle, and I said I would write another post about why we took that trip. But looo and behold, I never did! So here we are, six months later. Six months later, and these two love birds celebrated their six month anniversary over the weekend! That's why we all went to Seattle - for the second most amazing wedding I've ever been to! ;) Because you know, my own wedding was pretty killer.

These two babes eloped on the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, and it was honestly one of the top ten most beautiful, incredible days of my life. Mark and Lorena are the epitome of soul mates because they are real life, true best friends. They love each other so much, and you can feel that when you are around them. Especially on their wedding day, their love was palpable and I mean it.

The day of the wedding, we all spent the morning getting ready together. There were tacos and Dr. Pepper (only appropriate on Lorena's wedding day (but also I remember I had found out I was pregnant like three days before this trip. I was all paranoid about drinking caffeine - as I literally sit here typing this with a Dr. Pepper Big Gulp by my side - but I couldn't refuse the drink or everyone would be suspicious! hahaha)), we did a reveal in front of Pike's Place Market, everyone on the ferry cheered after the kiss, we spent time on the island taking tons of great pictures, then had an incredible dinner together before sending the newlyweds off on their own. I remember Lorena saying she uses the word "perfect" a lot to describe the day, and honestly there is no better word to use.

I love that the day was exactly how these two wanted it to be. Sure, it wasn't a traditional wedding. It was a planned elopement, on a ferry, in a city they had never visited, for goodness sakes. But they had a dream, and they ran with it! This day and this marriage was about them, and it showed, as it should. There seriously could not have been a more perfect way for them to start their new life together.

^^^ I didn't have any major assignments on the ferry, so I basically made one up. They I? wanted Beyonce's Love On Top to start playing after they kissed, but we didn't have any speakers. So instead I tried to start playing it at the exact same time from two phones in my hands. It... didn't really work out. But imagine how great it would have been if it had worked out! So great. Just imagine. Thank you.

^^^ A lot of people tell me taking four years of high school French was a waste, and to them I say: look at this picture! I knew all these great people before we signed up for French, but that class really sealed the deal on our best friendship. So if nothing else, I can thank Charleston High School for that.

I will forever be grateful I was part of this day with some of my very best friends. Most of this group made the long drive from Illinois to Utah for my own wedding, and it meant so much to me. There is nothing greater in life than surrounding yourself with these kind of people. The best of the best, I'm telling you.

And I'm sure you're wondering what incredible human followed us around all day capturing every moment so perfectly!? I'm telling you guys, the stars aligned for this event. One of our very very very talented photographer friends from home lives in Seattle now! She took my - and Lorena's! - senior pictures in high school, she was really good friends with my older sister, aaand she lived in my neighborhood! Mark and Lorena contacted her and she was on board with it all right away. We could not have asked for a more talented, funny, down to earth photographer to capture the day. Check out her facebook page HERE.
