Right now my calling (assignment) at church is to teach Relief Society once a month. I prepare a forty-five minute lesson for all the adult women in our congregation on the fourth Sunday, and I get to base my lesson on recent messages from General Conference! I love it. Last month my lesson was on Elder Holland's talk, Tomorrow the Lord Will Do Wonders Among You. This isn't the first time I've been asked to teach in Relief Society, so I thought by now I would be pretty comfortable with it. Instead, I've been feeling more and more nervous each month. June was especially rough for me, so when I taught in July I decided to bring something for everyone. At least they would come away with a little gift, even if the lesson was terrible! I bought a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates and printed copies of this handout I made on my phone. (Special thanks to my boys for buying me pretty flowers so I had a nice picture to use/why does having fresh flowers in the house make me so much happier? It's like magic.) Anyway, I received the most positive feedback of any lesson yet, so I guess that means my bribes worked! It probably also means I've raised the bar for myself, which is kind of a bummer only because those chocolates are expensive. Whoops.

I have that quote posted on my fridge so I see multiple times a day! I absolutely love it! I know what you mean about being nervous teaching! Teaching adults has always terrified me! Don't know why, it just does ;)

You're so insightful, I can't imagine your lessons ever being terrible! Plus, that picture is so dang cute!! & everyone loves yummy treats. It sounds like you're doing a lot better than you might think you are! Teaching RS sounds so scary. You're my hero.
