January 28, 2017

I know it isn't all the way over yet, but I feel safe in saying January was exactly what I wanted it to be. We stayed home a lot. We didn't go anywhere! Seriously, we barely left the valley. We worked on projects around the house. We had friends over. We exercised. We watched football. We played with Peter. We cleaned up lots of Peter messes.

Speaking of that baby, this week I tried to focus on Peter more. That sounds kind of silly because he is basically my entire life.. but I tried to be better this week. He seriously is my best friend and I am one hundred percent obsessed with him, and I want him to know that. This week I got down on the floor and chased him, wrestled him, tickled him. I played a looot of peek-a-boo, hiding behind every piece of furniture in the house. I got my haired pulled a lot more than usual - and there were a few more bites than usual, too - but I also got way more kisses and snuggles and smiles and giggles, and I felt happier. Peter makes me SO HAPPY.

Other things about January... Stefan and I started teaching the fifteen year old Sunday School class, which is anywhere from one to three boys each week. Peter is in there with us and usually is going crazy because he just skipped his morning nap. He seriously cannot make it through all three hours of church, so we've started trading off every other week who takes him home early and who stays for the third hour.

This one probably started last month, but I think it's so funny. I started using dry shampoo - late to the party, per usual - and at first Stefan thought it was so amazing! "You cannot even tell you didn't wash your hair today!" But now I've been using it so much, I think he's starting to find it gross.. This morning I told him how many days it had been since I washed my hair (four) and he goes, "ERIN! Go wash your hair right now!" hahaha. I did.

I also finally put together lots of family videos this month, and there's a link at the top of the blog now that will take you to my YouTube channel!
